With every step forward that technology takes, our global economy seems to get a little bit smaller. This is important for many social and economic reasons, not the least of which is the expanded career opportunities it gives the now global workforce. With an unemployment rate of 9.4 percent (Source: United States Department of Labor, December 2010) the ability to look for employment opportunities across the globe is more than just a valuable option-it is vital.

But before you look for employment opportunities outside the U.S., there are a few things you should do to prepare yourself for the process of finding and landing international employment and accepting it.
